Ingredients

  • 16oz (480ml) canned chickpeas (drained and rinsed)
  • 8oz (240ml) roasted red peppers from a jar (drained)
  • 2oz (60ml) spicy tahini
  • 1oz (30ml) olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) cumin
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) paprika
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) cayanne pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic

Directions

  1. Drain the chickpeas and rinse under cold water until clean. No need to remove the skins.
  2. Stir up the tahini so it is well mixed in the jar.
  3. Finely mince the garlic.
  4. Combine all ingredients in a food processor until smooth.
  5. Refrigerate for an hour to firm up texture further. It will be even better the next day.
